Drugs Awareness for Licensed Premises Staff

This course deals with the legal and social issues surrounding illegal drug use and drug dealing in or around licensed premises.

The Course
This course covers drugs awareness, drugs use and combating drug use including:

  • Drugs classification
  • Drugs legislation
  • Drugs commonly used on licensed premises
  • The drugs debate and some frequently asked questions
  • Anti-drugs policy
  • Assessing the risks
  • Putting a control strategy in place
  • Spotting and stopping drug use and dealing
  • Environment planning
  • Information exchange
  • Drug-related medical emergencies

Who should take this award?
Everyone who has a job in or around licensed premises (Personal licence holders, designated premises supervisors, door supervisors, bar staff and waiters).

Assessment: Multiple choice examination.

Duration: 1/2 a day.

Awarded by: Education Development International (EDI).

Course Handbook: Drugs Awareness Handbook

Assessment: As an alternative to sitting the formal course and qualification, a learner can complete the exercises in the workbook. The learner's DPS can then sign-off the training received using the integral confirmation of training received card.

Course Fees: £55.00 per person. Discount can be given on groups or if this course is taken alongside another course.
