AIT can now offer 2 types of Handcuffing Courses based on the NFPS Ltd Handcuffing Programme

1 Day standard course – AIT Certificated for 12 months

1 Day Btec Level 2 Intermediate Award in Safe and Effective Use of Restraint Equipment – Btec level 2 certification and AIT Certification valid for 12 months

Course Overview:

Understanding Reasonable Force  Law and Legislation in regards to the use of Handcuffs  Identify parts of the handcuff  5 principles of handcuffing  Application of handcuffs to a co operative subject (2 person restraint team)  Application of handcuffs to a co operative subject (3 person restraint team)  Application of handcuffs to an aggressive subject (2 person restraint team)  Application of handcuffs to an aggressive subject (3 person restraint team)  Moving a handcuffed subject from prone to standing position  Safe removal of handcuffs

This course is suitable for – Security Officers, Door Supervisors and Custodial Staff
